Aviation Merit Badge

aviation_lgHistorically, flying has always fascinated human’s desire to soar high in the sky like eagle and after countless futile attempts, Wright Brothers made it possible on Dec 17, 1903 which lasted for 59 sec. over a distance of 852 feet. Now we can fly faster, farther, and higher than ever been imagined.

If you want to learn more, here is an opportunity for you to have fun and earn merit badge.

Date: Nov. 21, 2015 (8:00 AM ~ 5:00 PM)
Location: Byron Airport (760 Osprey Court, Byron, CA)
Required: Permission Slip
Attire: Class A
Bring: Water, Day Pack, Snacks (if you want), partially finished Aviation Merit Badge workbook (if possible), and pen/pencil.

  1. Read about airplanes  prior to the outing.
  2. It would be great if you could partially complete part one on your own time. A more intensive explanation will be given at the outing. . (It is recommended that you finish early in case you do something wrong, then we can look over your mistakes and help you correct them).
  3. Bring Materials outlined FPG9 Plate Glider instructions.  We will be building the glider to learn principles of Aviation. This will be done at a separate time.
